How To Efficiently Use Patience Affirmations
1. Focus On Your Breath
When you need to focus on something else quickly your breath is the best way to go! It’s free, readily available, and insanely calming.
Here’s how I do it:
- Find somewhere comfortable and quiet
- Sit upright or lie down
- I prefer closing my eyes
- Slowly breathe in through your nose and allow your belly and ribs to expand
- Slowly breathe out through your mouth (if your nose feels more comfortable then that’s okay too)
- Do this as many times as you feel comfortable. I normally do 3-5
2. Practice Acceptance
Practicing acceptance is accepting the situation for what it is and not judging it for good or bad. It just is.
You don’t have to like it, but you have to come to grips with it.
3. Acknowledge How You Feel And Allow It To Pass
It’s okay to feel impatient, anxious, frustrated, etc. HOWEVER, it’s not okay to take these emotions out on other people because your emotions are your responsibility.
So what do you do?
Acknowledge how you feel and let it pass. You deserve to feel how you need to feel but don’t hold onto it. Emotions and feelings are temporary.
4. Push Yourself
This is where you think about the patience affirmations or what’s important to you. Sometimes being patient comes easy and sometimes it doesn’t.
And on the days that it doesn’t come easy, you’re really going to have to push yourself. Even with that one person who gets on your very last nerve
5. Find One Positive Thing From The Situation
This is another thing that’s quick, easy, and free. And there’s always something good you can take out of a situation.
Reminding yourself of something good quite literally puts you in a better headspace so you can ultimately fast-track feeling better.
Final Thoughts
Patience affirmations are the perfect solution to avoid feelings of frustration, anger, and even stress.
Unlike most affirmations, for some of you, this may be more effective once you’re in the heat of being impatient rather than saying them early in the morning.
But, of course, this is about whatever floats your boat so if you would prefer to say them in the morning then have at it!
Please remember this is a process, and progress isn’t always linear. As long as you’re putting in effort for at least 10 minutes a day to reach your goals, then you’re on the right path.
