Affirmations for courage are the best thing to use in a time of fear, doubt, and uncertainty.
Although you may be in a time in your life where you feel like you don’t have a lot of control right now, I want to take a moment to say something to you.
You are powerful. You are smart. And you are brave.
Thank you for taking the time to add more courage and bravery into your life. We need more people like you.
So, with that being said, let’s get into the best affirmations to remind you of how courageous you truly are and bring back some power into your life.

What Are Affirmations?
Before we get into the best affirmations for courage, I want to briefly talk about what affirmations are in itself.
The word “affirm” simply means to confirm, validate, or state something as true, usually in a positive way. So affirmations are statements where you are stating something to be true.
We all use affirmations, whether they’re positive or negative, and whether you realize you’re using affirmations or not.
Some simple affirmations can look like:
- McDonald’s has the best fries
- I make the best pasta
- She is the most reliable person I know
Affirmations can also be you stating something as true about yourself, such as:
- I am powerful
- I am fearless
- I let go of what does not serve me
Do affirmations always have to be about yourself? No.
Do affirmations always have to be positive? No.
But if you’re using affirmations with the intent to bring some sort of change in your life, then it’s best practice to make sure they are positive and encouraging.
So to sum it all up, affirmations are statements (usually positive) that state something to be true or a fact.
You can use affirmations in a simple way to state something as true, or you can use it in a way to bring change into your life.

The Best Way To Use Affirmations For Courage
Now that we know what affirmations are and the best affirmations for courage, I want to share with you the best way to use them so they will bring you the results you’re looking for.
1. Use Affirmations For Courage Daily
You want to make sure you’re using your affirmations consistently, preferably once a day.
You can choose to say them in the morning as you’re getting your day started or at night before you go to bed, but regardless of what you choose, do it daily.
The more consistent you are with something, the better the results will be. And that goes with anything. Good or bad.
2. Don’t Do Too Many Courage Affirmations At Once
The next thing you want to do when you’re using you’re saying your affirmation for courage is you don’t want to do too many at once.
You can choose a solid 15 (max) affirmations off this list that speak out to you the most, but I do NOT recommend saying all 15 every single day.
Try to stick with 2-3 affirmations to repeat a day. It doesn’t have to be the exact same 2-3 affirmations every single day.
You can switch it up from time to time, but I would ultimately stick with 3 affirmations maximum because when you set out to repeat 10-15 affirmations a day you will be more likely to:
- Feel like it’s a chore
- Get burned out on saying them
- Water down the message
So in order to avoid this, I would stick with 2-3 affirmations a day. If you want to only say 1 that works too, just try not to do more than 3.
3. Say Your Affirmations For Courage In The Present Tense
When using your affirmations for courage you also want to say them in the present tense.
Try to avoid phrases like:
- I was
- I will be
- I want to be
And try to use phrases such as:
- I am
- I can
- I let go of
When you say your affirmations in the present tense it affirms that the statement is true right now which makes it more powerful.
If you say “I will be” then that creates this space between where you are right now and where you want to be.
Which may be the case for you right now, but if you want to create a change in your life, you don’t want to highlight the space between where you are and where you want to be.
You want to highlight and lean into the characteristics you have right now that will carry you to the places you want to go, even if the characteristics seem so small that they don’t exist (yet).
For example, when I wanted to work on being more patient, I would say “I am patient” not “I will be patient” because saying “I am patient” highlights the ways that I have patience right now, in the present moment.
And even though it wasn’t a lot at the time and I needed more of it, it showed me that I did have that within me I just needed to lean into it more.

4. Pair It With Prayer
The last thing you want to do while using affirmations for courage is to pair it with prayer.
Now, for those of you who are not religious, you do not have to do this if it makes you uncomfortable.
However, I do highly recommend it because I know from first-hand experience it works.
We all do not have to agree on everything, and to be honest, all of us aren’t going to agree on everything.
If you don’t like to pray or don’t like to talk about religion then I 100% respect that. But I want to share what I know works at the same time.
Praying is powerful. Leaning on God is powerful.
You can say, plan, prepare, work, and do all the things you want, but ultimately it is up to God.
So when you’re saying your affirmations in order to bring more of something into your life, I also invite you to pray and ask God for more of what you want.
Praying, letting go, and letting God gives God room to show up and show out in your life in ways you couldn’t even imagine.
Conclusion On Affirmations For Courage
Affirmations for courage are the perfect thing to use in a time of uncertainty.
When you feel like you have 0 control over your life or you are in a time to make tough decisions, it’s the small things like this that can really make the difference.
Remember to say at least one affirmation a day (either in the morning or at night), and please don’t ever forget the power you have within you and the source that you’re connected to.
God did not build you in a spirit of fear, God built you in a spirit of power, love, and self-control.
Whatever it is you’re facing right now, know that you are not alone and that you are more powerful than you may give yourself credit for sometimes.
