The Notes To Mindfulness Journal is one of the only few journals I’ve ever stuck with and actually worked for me.
If you’re the kind of person who has a hard time being consistent with things and easily forgets to pick something back up, then this journal is for you. If you’re new to journaling and don’t know where to start, then this journal is definitely for you.
However, like with many things, there are pros and cons, so before you decide to buy one of the best journals ever made, I also want to share with you some potential cons.

Notes To Mindfulness Journal Pros
You Get Daily Prompts + Weekly Prompts + Additional Prompts
One of the best things about the Notes to Mindfulness Journal is that you get both daily and weekly prompts. This is a nice breakup in the same-day-after-day prompts.
Most journals I’ve had are the exact same prompts, with the exact same pages.
However, with this journal, it’s something different every 10 or so pages. For someone like me who gets bored rather easily, this is super nice because it helps me stick with the journal.
It’s also nice because the prompts are different. The daily prompts stay the same for the most part, but each weekly prompt is different.
The weekly prompts are also paired with either an inspirational quote or a cool design.
You also get about 30 additional prompts in the front of the journal as well.
I’m not going to lie, when my journal came in the mail I was so excited that I actually overlooked this and I didn’t see these prompts until I started writing this article.
So yea. Don’t be like me.
Has Remarkable Design & Illustrations
Another pro with this journal is both the designs inside and out.
The design on the outside is made in gold foil and is textured; it’s so satisfying running my hand across it.
The weekly prompts are paired with phenomenal illustrations, and the design of the daily prompts is aesthetic and minimalist.
The sections are also broken up by including illustrations so you know it’s a new section.
My favorite illustration is the elephant one at the end where it starts the new section for favorite memories.

Has Space To Write About Other Things
Another plus to the Notes to Mindfulness Journal is that it gives you a page next to your daily prompts.
Most journals I’ve seen typically have the same daily prompts page, after page with no extra space to write.
With this journal, however, you get ample space to write your daily prompts, and if you need to write more you have an extra page on the side to do so.
You can also use the blank side if you don’t feel like doing prompts that day.
Like for example, I’ve used a blank page just to do my daily gratitude list in the morning because honestly there are some days I just don’t feel like doing journal prompts.
I want to list 3 things I’m grateful for and my top 3 priorities for the day and get to work.

Has A Monthly Streak Keeper
Another reason why this journal is nothing short of amazing is that it has a monthly streak keeper.

Towards the end of the Notes to Mindfulness Journal you will find a monthly streak keeper AND have a space for your favorite memories.
And at the very end of the journal, you will find a section for a 100-year life span where you can color/check off each box for one year you’ve been alive.
They included this in there as a reminder of how urgent your life is and how precious your time is.
The monthly streak keeper is for about 90 days, and the favorite memories section gives you 3 pages.
Comes With Two Ribbons
When I recommend journals, I always recommend getting a journal with a ribbon so that you can keep your place, and this journal not only has 1 ribbon, it has 2.
And the ribbons are 100% cotton as well.
This makes journaling so much easier because it helps you keep your place and mark another place if you need it.
For example, if you want to mark your daily prompt and monthly streak keeper.
Or if you want to mark your daily prompt and then your emotional awareness prompts in the front.
The Notes to Mindfulness Journal is very thorough so I promise you this will come in handy.
Notes To Mindfulness Journal Cons
Because I said I was going to be honest in this review I have to admit something to you. I don’t have any real cons for this journal because it really is that amazing.
However, I still wanted to include the 3 cons I have listed below because not everything is for everyone.
It may not be a con to me but it could be to you, so I wanted to list them just in case it is important for you.
Doesn’t Have A Ton Of Extra Space To Write
One downside to this journal is that there isn’t a lot of extra space to write in the additional space area.
Granted most journals, unless it’s a blank journal, don’t even give you this page at all so it’s nice to even have it.
But if you were looking for a ton of additional space to write next to your daily prompts, this could be a downside for you.
The Daily Prompts Stay The Same (For The Most Part)
If you’re looking for new daily prompts for each day then this may not be the journal for you.
The daily prompts pretty much stay the same for the most part with the exception of the “7 Days of Depth” journal prompt at the bottom where each prompt is something new.
One Of The Daily Prompts
The last downside(ish) to the Notes To Mindfulness Journal is that one of the daily prompts asks what you’re celebrating today.
This may not be a thing for you, but it’s more of a personal preference.
I don’t particularly care for the prompt because I try to avoid the “romanticize your life” and “celebrate every day” mentality.
The reason why is that when I originally tried to have that mentality (before I even heard of Intelligent Change) if I didn’t have something to romanticize or celebrate that day then it made me feel unsatisfied for the day and I didn’t like that.
Most days are going to be boring and ordinary because that’s what life is.
Honestly, if you have a boring and ordinary day that is actually a blessing because you more than likely have:
- Food on the table
- A roof over your head
- Clothes on your back
- Clean running water to drink and bathe in
- Electricity and Wifi
- A chill and relaxing environment
Not everyone has those things.
Life is ordinary, for the most part. Most days are not going to be a celebratory thing.
So usually I find myself changing that prompt, but I will say I typically change at least one journal prompt with most of my journals (that have writing prompts).
I somehow always wind up not liking one of my daily prompts, so this is probably a me thing.
I still felt like it was worth mentioning though.
My Overall Honest Review Of Notes To Mindfulness Journal
The Notes To Mindfulness Journal is hands down the best journal I’ve ever laid my eyes on. It is 100% worth the buy.
Intelligent Change is an amazing company, the journal is well-thought-out and thorough, the designs are phenomenal, and the prompts are plentiful and thought-provoking.
