What Is A Manifestation Journal?
Journaling by itself is the practice of writing down your thoughts, feelings, goals, and everything else in between. So manifestation journaling is the practice of writing down your thoughts, feelings, and goals in relation to your achieving your goals and desires.
Journaling in itself has been known to be extremely helpful in self-improvement, organizing your thoughts, and reducing stress.
That’s why I highly recommend journaling, whether it’s with a manifestation journal or a regular journal because this tool can really aid you in achieving your goals in so many ways.
Different Types Of Best Manifestation Journals
There are many types of manifestation journals out there, but the problem with that is when you’re looking for the best manifestation journals it makes it hard to choose.
That’s why I’m going to be breaking down each type of manifestation journal, so you can have a general idea of which type best suits you.
1. The Manifestation Journal
A manifestation journal can be used to record:
- Your action plan
- Your goals
- Your desires
- Your current feelings
The difference between a regular journal vs a manifestation journal is a regular journal can be used for just about anything (it’s really up to you and what you may need to get off your chest that day).
Manifestation journal can be used for journaling about your manifestation and things related to it.
Why do you need a manifestation journal?
Well, you don’t need one. The truth is you can accomplish this in your everyday journal. The only thing is that it will take up a lot of space and cause you to go through your journal faster.
That’s why I recommend using a journal for everyday use (random stuff) and then having a journal dedicated to your goals. This makes it 10x easier to keep up with your habits and still not clutter your regular journal.
2. 55×5 Manifesting Journal
The 55×5 method is a manifestation method where you write your desire or some form of positive affirmation 55 times for 5 days straight.
I value honesty, so to be completely transparent I have not done this method before; however, I have seen that it works especially if you’re looking to manifest something fast.
The reason why I haven’t tried it yet is because it just seems like a lot of work for me; I’m a bit of a lazy gal so I like to do things with the least amount of effort (for the most part).
For the 55×5 method, all you need is:
- Journal or piece of paper
- Pen or pencil
While you don’t need an actual 55×5 manifesting journal, I have seen that it can be pretty helpful to have one.
3. Gratitude Journal
Gratitude journals are pretty self-explanatory; they are journals that you use to write down what you’re grateful for.
You may be wondering, what is the purpose of doing this?
When you intentionally find things to be grateful for it can:
- Instantly better your mood
- Change your perspective
- Attract more things to be grateful for
The more things you find to be grateful for in your life, the more things your mind will think of to be grateful for. And sometimes you can actually attract something to be grateful for like for example someone can give you a discount on your food.
Go out of your way to find small things to be thankful for. I promise it will change your life.
4. Scripting
Scripting may not be a type of journal per se, but I felt like I should still include it on the list of the best manifestation journals because it can be a very helpful manifesting technique. Scripting is very similar to visualization, the only difference is that instead of imagining it (like with visualization) you are writing it.
You want to write about your desire(s) as if it is occurring in the present moment or has already occurred.
This can be very helpful in reaching your goals because it puts you in the mindset of having your goals which can then inspire you to take action.
Does this mean that you will instantly get what you want overnight? No.
I don’t like to be misleading. You still have to take action and put in some sort of effort.
However, the more you remind yourself of your goals and the more you imagine them having already happened the more likely you are to be successful.
Scripting is not an actual type of manifestation journal, but this is a manifestation technique that I wanted to cover just in case you wanted to try it.
5. 369 Manifestation Journal/Method
The 369 manifestation method can be a very helpful tool to attract your desires. In this method, you will say or write your desires
- 3 times in the morning
- 6 times in the evening
- 9 times at night
This is another manifestation method that does not require an actual journal dedicated to it. While there are some very cute 369 manifesting journals out there, it is not a must.
6. Law Of Attraction Journal
The law of attraction is the principle that what you focus on is what you will get in life.
Now, is this a foolproof way of getting whatever you want? No.
Like many other principles in life, this is not a one-size-fits all thing. I see so many people take these concepts so literally that they miss the entire point.
If there is something that you want in life, it is 100% possible for you to attain or achieve it. As long as you stay focused (law of attraction) and put in the work, you will achieve your goal.
How does a law of attraction journal help with this process?
Because a good law of attraction planner will be equipped with guidelines, journal prompts, and habit trackers to help you stay organized while reaching your goal.
Here is one of the best law of attraction journals you could ever ask for.
7. Plain Old Journaling Will Work Too
While it’s nice to have journals dedicated to specific things, realistically not all of us can afford to do that. Which, in this economy, is completely understandable.
That’s why I wanted to go ahead and tell you right now that you do NOT have to buy one of the best manifestation journals in order to be successful.
If I’m being honest, I was able to manifest some of my biggest goals without a manifestation journal. Although it can be very fun and inspiring to use one, it’s not a must.
There are some amazing journals out there where you can achieve most of this. I will say one of the downsides to this, though, is that you won’t get some of the things manifestation journals have that regular journals don’t have such as:
- Guided journal prompts
- Positive affirmations
- Habit trackers
- Worksheets
So, if money is tight right now, I honestly wouldn’t recommend buying a manifestation journal. However, if you do have the funds to spend on something nice for yourself then I suggest snagging an awesome manifestation journal while you can!
Best Manifestation Journals I Highly Recommend
The best manifestation journals that made this list are not the only ones out there, but these are the greatest ones that I have found.
Of course, you don’t have to actually use these journals to be successful because what really determines your success is the small actions you take every day.
With that being said though, I do still strongly suggest using a journal during your manifestation journey because it can provide you with a sense of motivation, inspiration, and accountability, and can help you sort through your limiting beliefs.

Best Journaling Tips For Success
Here are some of my best journaling tips for success. I recommend choosing only 1 or 2 off this list to start because you don’t want to overwhelm yourself.
1. Journal Right Before Bed
Research has shown journaling before bed can be very beneficial to not only achieving your goals but also:
- Mental clarity
- Decreasing stress
- Improving quality of sleep
- Helping establish a routine
If you decide to journal before bed then I suggest writing with intention, whether that be writing to set your goals for tomorrow or writing about what you’re grateful for on that day.
2. Journal Early In The Morning
If you’re an early riser then journaling early in the morning may work better for you.
Just like writing before bed has a lot of great benefits, writing early in the morning (around the time you just got up) also has great benefits.
You can write about your dreams, your goals for the day, or 3 things you’re grateful for. This is also a good time to use one of the best manifestation journals you chose because the prompts can help get the wheels spinning.
Journaling in the morning is also a great way to start your day and get your head right.
3. Journal In A Quiet Space
In addition to using one of the best manifestation journals, I also highly recommend journaling somewhere where it’s quiet because it can be very difficult to sort through your thoughts and feelings in a noisy place.
If you don’t have a quiet space at home (like myself) these are some of the places I go where it’s pretty quiet
- The public library
- A small coffee shop (not Starbucks)
- My back or front yard
- A public park (preferably when it’s empty-ish)
- A friend’s house
4. Use Colorful Pens To Keep It Interesting [optional]
If you’re like me and love colors and lights, then I strongly suggest doing this. Pens may not matter that much when it comes to manifesting your dreams but they do make the process of journaling more fun!
I like to use a different color for each day. I don’t have a ton of colorful pens so I do have to reuse the colors eventually but it still makes this process fun.
It’s also really helpful to use different colors if you like to keep things separated, especially when you go back through your journal.
5. Use A Journal With A Bookmark [optional]
Having a bookmark in your manifestation journal is not a must, but it is very nice. The journal I’m currently using has a bookmark in it and it makes it very easy to find the page I left off on.
The one I’m using right now is not a manifestation journal; it’s just a hardback copy with blank pages.
It also happened to be a gift so I have no idea where they got it, but you can access popular journals similar to mine here.
6. Try Not To Write About The Same Thing Each Day
Please try to avoid writing about the same thing every day. For example, if you’ve committed to writing 3 things you’re grateful for every day, try to come up with 3 new things each day.
Or, if you have a journal with prompts in it try to come up with new answers each day.
Journaling isn’t just you writing in a book to get brownie points. It’s to help you organize/expand on your thoughts and feelings. Every day brings something different and new so your journal should also reflect that.
It can be easy to get lazy with it, but that would be defeating the purpose. If you’re feeling burned out, take a break, but don’t slack on what you’ve committed to.
Final Thoughts On The Best Manifestation Journals
The best manifestation journals will vary from person to person. Some people need more of a refined step-by-step journal and others need more space to let their thoughts and feelings run wild.
Regardless of the type of manifestation journal you choose, you want to make sure that it best suits your needs.
I personally prefer to have journals where there’s more space for me to jot down my daily affirmations, long-term goals, and small actionable goals. You may prefer something totally different. And that’s okay!
As long as you’re able to get what you need from it is what really matters.
